Chicago is super dog-friendly, with tons of activities and places where you can enjoy the city with your Corgi! Here are some top spots and activities:

1. Dog Parks & Beaches

  • Montrose Dog Beach: Located in Uptown, Montrose Beach has an off-leash dog area where pups can run and play in the sand and water. It’s a great spot, especially in summer!

  • Grant Bark Park: Near Grant Park, this fenced-in area has water fountains, shade, and plenty of space for dogs to play.

  • Wiggly Field (Noethling Playlot): Located in Lakeview, this is Chicago’s first official dog park and a great place for social pups to meet new friends.

2. North Park Village Nature Center

  • Location: Albany Park, Chicago

  • Distance: 1 mile of trails

  • Highlights: This nature oasis offers easy hiking trails through woodlands, wetlands, and prairies. It’s a quiet and shaded spot, ideal for a relaxed walk with your dog.

3. Indiana Dunes National Park (about an hour’s drive from Chicago)

  • Location: Chesterton, Indiana

  • Distance: Over 50 miles of trails (choose from many trail options!)

6. Skokie Lagoons

  • Distance: 4.4 miles of loop trails around the lagoons

7. Lincoln Park Trails

  • Highlights: Lincoln Park offers various trails near the zoo, around the lagoons, and along the lakeshore. The park is very dog-friendly, with many leashed paths and plenty of spots to relax.

8. Busse Woods (Ned Brown Forest Preserve)

  • Location: Elk Grove Village, Illinois, about 30 minutes from Chicago

  • Distance: 11.2 miles of trails

  • Highlights: This forest preserve has paved and unpaved trails around lakes and through woodlands. It’s a popular spot for dog walkers, with plenty of wildlife viewing opportunities.

9. Salt Creek Trail

  • Location: Near Brookfield, Illinois, about 20 minutes from Chicago

  • Distance: 6.6-mile loop

  • Highlights: Winding along the Salt Creek, this forested trail is peaceful and easy to access from the city. It’s a nice mix of shade and open spaces, ideal for an easygoing hike with your pup.

We are taking locality out of the equation. We offer flight nanny service exclusively for our puppies. Hand delivered to you by the actual breeder who lovingly raised your Corgi. My husband David or I (Keslie) will accompany your puppy via airline ANYWHERE IN THE U.S. to your nearest airport and meet you there! Ballpark estimate, this is usually $500.
